Disintegration
EN 13432 require 90% disintegration in a compost environment in 12 weeks. The compost at the end of the 12 weeks is screened; less than 10% should remain on a 2mm screen.

BioTAK™ achieved 100% disintegration at the end of the 12 week composting test.

Ecotoxicity
The resulting compost from the disintegration test is used to ensure that the germination and plant biomass of summer barley and cress are acceptable and there are no traces of heavy metals or inorganic components.

The test on our BioTAK™ range was completed in 11 days with both the germination rate and plant biomass being easily reached with no negative effect on either the summer barley or cress.
